The Silver Tankard Gastropub opens 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Our menu offers your favourite gastro-pub dishes.

The Silver Tankard is a gastro pub, open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. We serve an Irish cuisine made with local ingredients at a very reasonable price because we believe food is one of life’s greatest joys.

The Silver Tankard is a warm, friendly, casually sophisticated community meeting place for dining, drinking and socialising. In addition, our private banquet area can serve up to 100 people from a specially prepared menu either A la carte or finger food.

We can cater for all occasions such as birthday parties, christening, communion, confirmation of just a simply get together of friends or family.

The establishment at Tankardstown has been well-known for its quality food and service for decades, and with Head Chef Declan at the helm, Irish cuisine has become their speciality.

Declan started his culinary journey at the Silver Tankard at the age of 15 before going to college where his eyes were opened into the culinary world.

Declan worked in hotels in Waterford and Dundalk before returning to the local area and working in restaurants with Chefs from all over the world, exapnding his expertise and knowledge of tradtional and modern cuisine.

At The Silver Tankard, produce is sourced as locally as possible, with a team of local chefs overseeing kitchen operations. Chef Declan takes pride in creating innovative dishes that combine traditional flavors with modern culinary trends.
